ABATE ALONIA DAM ON THE RENDINA RIVER
The reservoir on the Rendina river was constructed in the ‘50s as water supply for the domestic irrigation. Its designed capacity was of 21 million of cube meters according to the domestic demand. However, due to a progressive increasing of landfill material sedimented with time, the dam experienced a drastic and unsustainable reduction of water capacity. Cotecchia was appointed to design action to recover the full capacity of the reservoir. In such view many action were defined as: i) hydraulic assessment of the basin, ii) dredging of the bed and iii) ground improvement of the dam embankment.
