DAM ON THE LOCONE RIVER

The Locone river is located in the southern Italy in the Apulia region, flowing northward trough a broad and flat valley for around thirty kilometers before converging into the Ofanto river. The dam rises halfway along the Locone course with a maximum height of 66m, a crest length of 1396m and an overall volume of the embankment of 9 million cubic meters. The overall reservoir capacity is of 115 million cubic meters. Cotecchia was appointed as geological and geotechnical expert as well as leader designer to coordinate and steer the design team.
